Installation and commissioning
Last updated: 31 August 2026
A split air conditioner consists of two units connected by a refrigerant line. The mechanical installation and the commissioning are two separate operations, and the regulations treat them differently.
What you can do yourself
- Mount the indoor unit and the outdoor unit on their brackets.
- Drill through the wall and run the refrigerant line, the cable, and the condensate drain pipe.
- Carry out the electrical connection in accordance with the applicable standard.
- Fit the trunking and finishing covers.
What only a certified company can do
Only a company holding a certificate of competence may handle the refrigerant (EU Regulation 2024/573, Art. 11.6):
- evacuating the circuit;
- opening the valves and charging the refrigerant;
- leak testing;
- commissioning and drawing up the assembly contract (Cerfa form 15498*02).
What about the certificate?
You can place your order before you have even chosen your installer: nothing blocks your order or its delivery. After commissioning, send us the certificate of competence number of the company that carried it out — we will add it to your file.
